How to Create Private Nameservers

Private nameservers allow you to use your own branding.

Example:

ns1.yourdomain.com

ns2.yourdomain.com

Step 1: Obtain Server IP Address

Locate your hosting server IP address from cPanel or your welcome email.

Example:

203.0.113.10

Step 2: Create Child Nameservers

Log in to your domain registrar.

Locate:

Child Nameserver Registration

Register:

ns1.yourdomain.com → Server IP

ns2.yourdomain.com → Server IP

Step 3: Add DNS Records

Inside your DNS zone create:

A Record

Host: ns1

Points To: Server IP

A Record

Host: ns2

Points To: Server IP

Step 4: Assign Nameservers

Change your domain nameservers to:

ns1.yourdomain.com

ns2.yourdomain.com

Propagation Time

DNS propagation may take 24-48 hours.
